Current Position: Assistant Professor, Department of Anthropology, University at Albany, SUNY. Associate, Center for Social and Demographic Analysis (CSDA), U. Albany
Brief Bio: My research focuses on historical and household demography. I am currently working on a study of mortality responses to grain price fluctuations in 19th century Scotland, migration and climate variability in the Netherlands, and household and family patterns in preindustrial Europe.
Penn State’s demography Program: The Penn State Demography program offered broad, interdisciplinary training that has helped me develop collaborative research projects. Research support from the program and PRI was important as I worked toward my degree and workshops and colloquia contributed to my professional development.
