Current Position: Distinguished Professor of Sociology, Director of the Center for Family and Demographic Research, and the Co-Director of the National Center for Family & Marriage Research, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH
Brief Bio: Dr. Brown's research examines the implications of the rapid transformation of American family life, with a focus on union dynamics and their consequences for well-being at various stages of the life course. Much of her work examines recent changes in cohabitation, marriage, and divorce. Her research has been supported by a career development award from NICHD as well as grants from NIA. She is the author of Families in America, published by the University of California Press. In recent research, Dr. Brown addresses transitions into and out of intimate partnerships in later life. Her research on gray divorce has received national media coverage.
