Current position: Associate Professor of Sociology, The University of Alabama at Birmingham
Brief bio: Dr. Baker's research examines how social determinants of health and the built environment leads to health disparities among children and adults with cystic fibrosis. Additionally, I am co-leader of the UAB Social Determinants of Health Research Core and have developed a toolkit to help clinical and basic science investigators to incorporate social determinants of health measures into their research. Lastly, I also work on a regional Common Data Elements project that uses electronic health records at three partnering academic institutions with area-level social and environmental measures.
