Current position: Demographer Statistician, International Migration Branch, U.S. Census Bureau
Brief bio: Dr. Mayol-Garcia helps develop net international migration estimates and conducts research to improve the methodology for these annual population estimates. Prior to this she worked a year as a Senior Demographer and Sociologist leading research efforts to improve the measurement of racial and ethnic disparities. Previously, Dr. Mayol-Garcia led a team in reviewing, producing and analyzing data from the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP), the longest and most complicated survey the Census Bureau administers, completed a detail with the Unaccompanied Minors Program in the Office of Refugee and Resettlement, and taught part-time at Georgetown University, alternating between a course on Latinx in the US and a course on Population Studies.
